Course Description
NANI conducts National Anveshika Experimental Skill Test (NAEST) every
year through the Anveshikas to encourage the culture of doing experiments since
2014. NAEST is a unique examination and perhaps first of its kind in India.
NAEST is organized for two groups,
- Junior (18 years and below, as
on 31 July 2021)
- Senior (Above 18 years, as on 31
July 2021)
Screening
In the screening round, 8 to 10 short videos of some innovative
experiments will be shown to students. Questions, based on the experiments
shown in those videos, will be asked to test their observation skill and basic
understanding of the subject.
Note: The test window will remain open for 24 hours. Students can appear
as per their convenience in a pre-opted 1-hour slot.
Mode:
Online on mooKIT platform.
Prelims
A unique round to perform experiments at home, with the material easily
available. Selected students from the screening will be allowed in prelims.
Prelims focuses on performing experiments, analysis of the data, and inference
by the participants. Prelims toppers will compete in the next round. Details
will be shared with the selected students.
Mode:
At home
Final
Selected students from Prelims will enter the Finals. Here they will
perform rigorous experiments. Details will be shared with the selected
students.
Mode:
At home, with NANI ka Dabba provided.
Prizes
Screening: Participation certificate by IIT KANPUR, for eligible
students participating in screening, based on their performance. Eligibility
Criteria: Above Cut-off marks in screening test.
Prelims: (Regional

First Rs. 1000/-
Second Rs. 750/-
Third Rs. 500/-,
Finals: (National
Prizes)
1. Winner: Rs 5000/-
2. First runner up: Rs 3000/-
3. Second runner up: Rs 2000/-
(These National level prizes are under IAPT-Shilpa Nandkumar
Memorial Award constituted for Junior and Senior groups separately. )
NAEST-2021 Important Dates
Registration opens on 1 August 2021
1. Screening: 20 September 2021
2. Prelims: Second week of October 2021
3. Finals: November 2021
Exact dates & mode of prelims / finals will be communicated to
selected students by email. Once registered, be alert and check for mails
regularly.
Course Audience
Any Indian student studying in class 9/10/11/12/B.Sc/M.Sc from
any State Board/Central Board or affiliated Colleges/Universities of
India.
