Death only if humans want it anymore..? Death of a Death by Genetic Analysts: Information.
Two genetic engineers have
said death could be an option by 2045. Venezuelan-born Jose Luis Corteiro and
Cambridge University mathematician David Wood have published a book, The Death
of Death. In that book, they say that death may become an option in the future,
and that treatment may come before aging. "More than we thought before,
immortality is a real and scientific possibility. By 2045, humans will only die
in accidents. There will never be natural causes or diseases," say Jose
Lewis and David.
They said it was
"important" to begin classifying old age as a "disease" so
that public-funded research and its "treatment" could prolong youth
without reaching old age. The process is said to involve the transformation of
‘bad’ genes into healthy ones and the removal of dead cells from the body.
These include repairing damaged cells, treatments with stem cells, and printing
vital organs in 3D.
They also noted that
nanotechnology is important among other new gene handling techniques. In their
report, they said that aging is the result of DNA 'tails' called 'telomeres' on
our chromosomes. The report states that shortening and changing age also
involves lengthening the telomeres. Telomeres are damaged and compressed over
time. This is a process that accelerates the occurrence of toxins entering the
body - smoking, alcohol and air pollution are among the elements that reduce
the length of telomeres, which accelerates the aging process,”the report said.
The report added that major
international companies such as Google are ‘entering the medical field’.
Because they are beginning to realize that it is possible to cure ‘aging’. The
report goes on to say that both of these genetic engineers hope to cure
diseases such as cancer within 10 years. They also say that just because there
are so many places for more people on earth does not mean that our planet will
become crowded with immortality.
"No one wants to have
more children now than they did in the past," he said. As far as cost is
concerned this treatment will initially be expensive. But with a competitive
market, prices will gradually fall. Because it benefits everyone. The cost of
anti-depressant therapy will be comparable to the price of the latest
smartphones,” the report said.
