Today (November 29, 1993) is the Memorial Day of Bharat Ratna JRD Tata, who played a major role in building the nation in his dreams.
Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata
was born in Paris, France. He is the son of Ratanji Dadabai Tata. His mother
was from France so he lived in France during his childhood. He served in the
French army and enjoyed several adventures there. However, his father said,
"Enough you get out of there!" Called. That's why he called us JRD.
The regiment on which he depended was then completely destroyed in the war in
Morocco. Curiosity went up again that he could study engineering at Cambridge.
Again Dad invited me to join Tata. He joined Tata Steel as an unpaid
apprentice. He quickly learned the ins and outs of the industry. The regret of
not studying at the university eventually led to J.R.D. Tata did just that.
He fell in love with flying in
the sky when he was in France at a young age. He became the first pilot in
India. In 1929, he became India's first pilot. He started Tata Airlines in
India in 1932. At the age of 34, he was elected chairman of the Tata Steel
Group, the country's largest industrial conglomerate. He found talented young
people and brought them to his company and handed over key responsibilities.
This was the reason for the company's tremendous growth and success. After the
independence of the country, Prime Minister Nehru joined hands with India to
increase production. He led the company from 53 years of leadership. The group,
which had 14 companies when he took over, has grown to 97 companies in 50
years. The industry is a word that Indians remember 'Tata'. Tata Group was formed
as a leading company to that extent.
After taking over the leadership
of Tata, he formed Tata Airlines, which later became Air India of India. He was
the one who brought stability into the lives of many workers who came up with
the practice that workers will be considered to be on duty from the time they
leave home until they return home. He was responsible for the formation of Air
India and Air India International, which are now mixed. TCS, Titan, Tata Motors
are all his dreams. After the independence of the country, Prime Minister Nehru
joined hands with India to increase production. He led the company from 53
years of leadership. The group, which had 14 companies when he took over, has
grown to 97 companies in 50 years.
Sudha Murthy, the wife of
Narayana Murthy, one of the founders of Infosys today, worked at Tata. When he
left Tata, J.R.T. He called out, "Suda! The community has given us so
much. So we are benefiting and we must pay it back." said. It was under
its influence that the Infosys Foundation arose. He did not have a property in
his name until the end. He had the simplicity of not even registering the house
in his name. He actively pursued the family planning program before it was
introduced by the Government of India. The lines he uttered at the award
ceremony for the Bharat Ratna should be as pervasive in the minds of everyone
in our nation as his thought-provoking sky.
Those lines - “Do not make India
an economic power; this earth is enough for all the people of this country to
live happily and self-sufficiently!” said. India's foremost businessman, he
played a major role in the nation's structure. The industry is a word that Indians
remember 'Tata'. Tata Group was formed as a leading company to that extent. He
has received many awards and honours in India and around the world. In 1992, he
was awarded the Bharat Ratna. He was the first businessman to receive this
award. He wanted the Indian earth to be a nation where all the people of the
country live happily and self-sufficiently. JRD, the record man who has made a tremendous
contribution to the Indian industry and economy. Tata passed away on November
29, 1993, at the age of 89 in Venice, Italy.
