CSIR UGC NET Notification 2022: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates are advised to cross-check the CSIR NET Eligibility Criteria before filling the application form. It is compulsory that candidates must fulfil all the eligibility criteria i.e., age, educational qualification and if any other conditions are required for applying for the UGC NET exam. Some of the basic educational requirements that are required in the exam are mentioned below:
- Candidates must have passed Master’s degree or an equivalent degree like Integrated Integrated BS-MS from a recognized institute or college
- General/ EWS/ OBC-NCL candidates must have scored a minimum of 55% of marks in Master’s Degree while SC/ ST/ physically/ visually handicapped candidates have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the Master’s Degree
- Candidates who are in the final year of a Master’s Degree or equivalent courses or whose result is awaited are also eligible to apply for the exam
- PhD degree holders who have completed their Master’s degree before September 19, 1991, are eligible to apply for a Lectureship only. For this, a minimum of 50% of marks are required

CSIR NET Age Limit and Relaxation
- For Junior Research Fellowship, the candidate’s age should not be more than 31 years
- For lectureship and assistant professors, there is no upper age limit fixed.
- A relaxation of 5 years in age is provided to SC/ ST/ Physically or Visually handicapped and female candidates while there is a relaxation of 3 years for OBC-Non Creamy Layer candidates
CSIR NET Application Form
Candidates who wish to apply for UGC NET exam can visit the official website for registration and availing of other information. The candidates must follow the steps mentioned below while filling the CSIR UGC NET application form:
- Step 1: Visit the official site of CSIR UGC NET.
- Step 2: Scroll Down and click on the button ‘Application Form UGC- NET Dec 2022 and June 2022 cycle’ that is available on the home page itself.
- Step 3: After clicking on that you will be redirected to the application form page.
- Step 4: New users should opt for ‘New Registration’. An instruction page will be displayed, read it carefully, scroll down and check the box provided below.
- Step 5: Click on the button ‘Click here to Proceed’. Mentioned all the details including name, date of birth, educational qualification, email id, mobile number and other required information.
- Step 6: Once the application form has been filled correctly. Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
- Step 7: You will get the application number and password information. Log in with the same application number and password for future reference.
- Step 8: Candidates are required to upload the scanned photographs in the prescribed format.
- Step 9: Candidates must cross-check all the details and proceed to pay the ‘Application Fee’.
- Step 10: Must save a receipt copy of fee payment and take out a printout of the filled application form for future reference.

The application fee of the CSIR UGC NET 2022 exam may vary from category to category that is mentioned below:
