Rare scene of Jupiter and Saturn approaching 400 years later.
After nearly 400 years in the
solar system, the two planets Jupiter and Saturn will be visible to the naked
eye for the first three days of December 20. Jupiter, the fifth largest planet
in the Solar System, is twice as large as the other planets. Saturn, the second
largest planet in sixth place, is brighter than Jupiter. In this case, the rare
sighting of the two planets Jupiter and Saturn will appear in the sky on
December 20, 21 and 22. The two planets Jupiter and Saturn can be seen shortly
after the crescent moon appears as the sky darkens in the south and southwest.
The interval between these two
planets gradually decreases during this month and the following month, which
often appears on Jupiter and then Saturn after sunset. The gap, which was 5.1
degrees on December 1, will drop to 0.7 degrees by December 15. After this,
Jupiter and Saturn, which are approaching 0.08 degrees every night, will appear
in the sky as a single star on December 21st. After July 16, 1623, just now,
398 years later, the two planets are about to merge into one another.
Astronomers have reported that the rare phenomenon of the two planets Jupiter
and Saturn coming together at a very short interval of 0.1 degrees can be seen
with the naked eye without the use of any special equipment.
