Qualifications:
(a) Qualification as to Age: As per Section 6 of Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Educational Services (G.O.Ms.No. 14, School Education (SE2(1)), 30th January 2020), no person shall be eligible for appointment by direct recruitment to this recruitment, if he has completed 40 years of age, on the first day of July of the year 2021. Provided that the age limit prescribed above shall be increased by five years in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Class Muslims, Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and De- notified Communities and destitute widows of all castes.
(b) Other qualifications :- (i) No person shall be eligible for appointment to the posts unless he possesses the qualification as prescribed by the National Council for Teacher Education by Regulations from time to time. (ii) The persons must have obtained a Post Graduate Degree, after completion of S.S.L.C., Higher Secondary Course or its equivalent and a degree (10+2+3+2) from any University or Institution, recognized by the University Grants Commission. (iii) The Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees must have been obtained from an institution recognized by the University Grants Commission and the courses must have been duly permitted by the competent authority authorised on this behalf.
(c) Adequate knowledge of the official language of the State, namely, Tamil: No person shall be eligible for appointment to any post in this Service by direct recruitment unless he possesses an adequate knowledge of Tamil.
(d) Educational Qualifications- Post Graduate Assistant in Language subject (a) Post Graduate with atleast 50% marks (or its equivalent) from recognized University and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,) from National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution. or (b) Post Graduate with atleast 45% marks (or its equivalent) from recognized University and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (Form of application for recognition, the time limit of submission of application, determination of norms and standards for recognition of teacher education programmes and permission to start new course or training) Regulations,2002 notified on 13.11.2002 and National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations,2007 notified on 10.12.2007 18 or (c) Post Graduate with atleast 50% marks (or its equivalent) from recognized University and B.A.Ed / B.Sc., B.Ed., from any National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution. and 2. Must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in the same languages or their equivalent in respect of which recruitment is made.
(e) Educational Qualifications- Post Graduate Assistant in Academic subject (a) Post Graduate with atleast 50% marks (or its equivalent) from recognized University and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution. or (b) Post Graduate with atleast 45% marks (or its equivalent) from recognized University and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (Form of application for recognition, the time limit of submission of application, determination of norms and standards for recognition of teacher education programmes and permission to start new course or training) Regulations,2002 notified on 13.11.2002 and National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations,2007 notified on 10.12.2007 or (c) Post Graduate with atleast 50% marks (or its equivalent) from recognized University and B.A.Ed / B.Sc., B.Ed., from any National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution. and 2. Must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in the same Subject or their equivalent in respect of which recruitment is made.
