Today (January 16, 1997) is Clyde Tombaugh Memorial Day, Who is discovered, Pluto.
Clyde William Tombaughugh was
born on February 4, 1906, in Illinois, USA. After his family moved to Burrett,
Kansas in 1922, Dombok's plans to attend college were frustrated when hail
destroyed his family's farm crops. Beginning in 1926, he built many telescopes
himself with lenses and glass. To better test his telescopic glass, Tombaughck
dug a pit 24 feet long, 8 feet deep, and 7 feet wide, with a pick and shore.
This provided a constant air temperature. No air currents and the root was
used by the family as an underground and emergency shelter. He sent maps of
Jupiter and Mars to the Lowell Lab in Block stop, Arizona. This gave him a job.
Lombok served there from 1929 to 1945.
While working as a young
researcher at the Lowell Observatory in Flaxtown, Arizona, Tombaugh was
commissioned to perform the X-planet study predicted by Percival Lowell and
William Pickering. He discovered the planet Pluto in 1930. Pluto, which had
planetary status, later became an asteroid. He also discovered many asteroids.
He called for scientific research on flying saucers. Pluto, the last planet in
the Solar System, was deemed unqualified 10 years ago. Various planets orbit
the sun along with the earth we live on. Mercury is the first planet to orbit
the Sun in this order. 3rdly the earth we live on orbits the sun. Similarly, in
1930, a new planet was discovered next to Neptune, the 8th orbiting planet. It
was discovered by the American astronomer Clyde Domba.
Following the release of this
information, many people volunteered to name the new planet. Vanadia, an
11-year-old girl from England, suggested the Roman name of the Greek god of the
underworld, ‘Pluto’, through her grandfather. That is how the 9th planet got
the name 'Pluto'. There is a lot of interesting information about Pluto who was
the shop boy of the solar system. 590 crore km from the Sun. Beyond is Pluto.
The entire planet is made up of rocks and ice. The average temperature of Pluto
is -230 degrees Celsius. Because there is less gravity than on Earth, the weight
will be less. That means if your weight on Earth is 30 kg, Pluto will only be 2
kg. Pluto once orbited the Sun for 248 years. As with the impressions of Pluto,
there was much controversy over its research. Some scientists have said that
Pluto is not a planet. Unlike other planets in the solar system, Pluto's orbit
was sometimes very far from the Sun and sometimes sideways.
They also discovered that Pluto's
orbit intersects Neptune's orbit. As a result, Pluto, smaller than Earth's
moon, lost its planetary status. On August 24, 2006, astronomers disqualified
Pluto, the ninth planet in the Solar System, from being called the
"Asteroid" or "Dwarf Planet". However, other dwarf planets
in the solar system, including Pluto, have been declared plutoids and are being
explored. Clyde Tombaugh, the discoverer of the planet Pluto, passed away on
January 16, 1997, in Los Cruce, New Mexico, in his 90s. A small portion of his
remains was placed on the New Horizons spacecraft. The container has the
inscription.
