Today (January 13, 1866) is the birthday of Wilhelm Wein, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics for his study of black body radiation.
Wilhelm Wien was born on January
13, 1864, in Prussia. He attended school in Rashtenburg in 1879 and in
Kaitelberg in 1880-82. In 1882 he received his higher education at the
University of Cted'Ivoire and the University of Berlin. In 1883-85 he worked in
the laboratory of a scientist named Carmen von Kelmoldz. In 1883 Wein developed
Wien's displacement law using thermodynamic and electromagnetic principles. He
received his doctorate in 1886 for his research on the effect of colours on
different materials during the diffraction of light in metals.
In 1896 he studied the laws of
thermodynamics and the laws of thermal radiation and the study of the discharge
of electricity in a vacuum. He published a theoretical study of canal rays,
hydrodynamics in 1899, and electromagnetism in 1900. In 1912 and 1918 he was
involved in many more studies of positive radiation. Wein's study of the
transition from Newton's theories of physics to mass spectroscopy.
Developed key principles in the
fields of thermodynamics and electromagnetism. German scientist. Who defined a
black substance that could absorb all types of radiation? Creator of
distribution rules for thermal radiation. Winner of the 1911 Nobel Prize in
Physics for his study of thermal radiation. Wilhelm Wein, the winner of the Nobel
Prize in Physics for his study of blackbody radiation, passed away on August
30, 1928, at the age of 64, in Munich, Germany.
